Frequently Asked Questions

Can I choose what songs I want to be played?

Mornington Peninsula DJ will share a proposed playlist based on your feedback. You can add your favourite songs, must play songs or remove songs you don’t want played. MPDJ will read the crowd to ensure the dance is always going off!

What do I need to supply the DJ?

Access to power. Mornington Peninsula DJ will bring all equipment, the sound system and lighting for your event. A light meal can be provided to the DJ so he can play all night long but not essential!

How much room does a DJ require?

2m x 2m, but to be on the safe side please check with Mornington Peninsula DJ prior to the day. Our set up is compact but certain equipment have different specs!

Can I meet the DJ before my event?

Yes! This is very important since the music and DJ are a big part of your event. Mornington Peninsula DJ can arrange to meet at a location on the Mornington Peninsula to chat about your requests and music style. Please note this is done at no extra cost and is included in the wedding package!

When I book a DJ does it come with lighting for the dance floor?

Mornington Peninsula DJ includes party lighting (4 lights) at no extra cost, however if you’d like something with a little more wow factor, we have additional equipment hire available.

Why do DJ’s cost so much for weddings?

When you hire Mornington Peninsula DJ for your wedding, you’re essentially hiring a audio and visual professional.

Similar to a photographer who edits and adds their own artistic style to photographs, Mornington Peninsula DJ pre-produces the music and mixes, prepares a run schedule and adds in his own live performance style and mixing skill.

Meeting up with Mornington Peninsula DJ before the wedding day and planning out specific details is essential. Unlike a corporate event or function where client communication is done via phone, email or event form.

All taxes and insurance are covered.

Equipment used for a wedding costs thousands of dollars. To hire audio and lighting equipment is expensive.

To play music commercially every song needs to be purchased by Mornington Peninsula DJ to support artists.

Travel expenses.

Whilst Mornington Peninsula DJ mixes and plays music for approx. 5 hours (eg.6pm-11pm), the total hours Mornington Peninsula DJ will be at the wedding is about 8 hours when you include setup, sound checks and pack down.
